New route announced to travel between Barranquilla and Miami

new service between Ernesto Cortissoz International Airport in Barranquilla and Miami International Airport (MIA). Customers are expected to be able to begin making reservations starting Saturday, January 31 and service begins June 4.
Although it is still pending approval by the Colombian Civil Aeronautics, the new service between Barranquilla and Miami, marks the fourth destination of American Airlines in the country, where it already operates in Bogotá, Cali and Medellín.

“This new destination in Colombia and five new routes reinforce American’s commitment to serving Latin America and the Caribbean by providing customers with more access to the region,” said Art Torno, American’s senior vice president for Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.

Currently, American Airlines operates three daily flights between Bogota and Miami, a daily flight between Bogota and Dallas/Fort Worth, a daily flight between Medellin and Miami and a daily flight between Cali and Miami. With these new routes, American Airlines will operate more than 1,750 weekly flights to 85 destinations throughout Mexico, the Caribbean and Latin America.
