Gonzalez gets his first win by beating the Marlins

Panamanian starter Severino Gonzalez outpitched Jarred Cosart on the mound and was credited with his first lifetime win leading the Philadelphia Phillies to a 6-2 victory over the Miami Marlins.
Gonzalez (1-1) pitched five complete innings, allowed five hits, two runs, walked one and retired five batters via strikeout to earn his first career win. The Panamanian improved his form after in his debut in the Major Leagues he was beaten with seven runs in less than three episodes. This time he allowed a run on a sacrifice fly in the first inning, and another with a single in the fifth inning, and leaves his ERA at 10.57 in seven innings and two-thirds pitched on the season.
On Saturday he will return to the hill to face the New York Mets.
First baseman Ryan Howard supported him by driving in two runs.
The loss went to Cosart (1-2) in five innings, allowing five hits and three runs.
